Review : Hello Enterprise, We're representatives of Aldea. We're interested in opening negotiations with the Federation to supplement/replace your foster care system (surely children are still orphaned in the 24th century!) as well open biological sciences/cultural exchanges. We are confident that we can provide many of the children in your foster care system with enriching lives while preventing Wesley Crusher from coming up with some crazy hunger strike idea.

Review : Guns at a peace conference, was there any other way it was going to go for the chorus? I know Riva didn't want the place looking like a military outpost but perhaps a portable energy dampening field generator? That just made the whole episode feel contrived because the conflict in it could have been so easily avoided. On the flip side, having the Engineering team fabricate the meeting table and torches was kinda cool to see. It makes you think of all the operations that must go into running a starship like the enterprise as well as supporting its missions. So much of TNG seemed too polished, something along the lines of "Hey look! everything we need is here like its Magic! And look again the story is all wrapped up just in time!"

Review : I always liked this episode and I think its because of the aire the Lantree put over it. The ship was just so spooky with its automated beacons, warnings, and the fact that the ship was too "hot" to risk even sending an away team over in EV suits. Having that very real feeling consequence attached to the story helped suspend disbelief for me. I do wonder why they had to destroy the Lantree though. Why not just blast her with radiation or something? I know the Federation is a big economy but that's a lot of hardware to just obliterate.
