A technically advanced species, the Akritiri were a repressive species who operated an unjust legal system and confined their prisoners in a space station under inhumane conditions. In 2373 Lieutenant Tom Paris and Ensign Harry Kim were confined to the station, although Voyager was able to rescue them shortly afterwards. [1]
