A Klingon, Miral is mother to B'Elanna Torres and ex-wife of John Torres. Miral separated from John when B'Elanna was five; he returned to Earth and B'Elanna did not see him again. [2] In 2376 B'Elanna had a near death experience in which she met her mother on the Barge of the Dead. She believed that Miral had died in real life, but this remains uncertain. [3]
