A member of the Karemma commerce ministry, Hanok met with Sisko on the USS Defiant in 2372 to protest Ferengi trading practices. During the meeting the Dominion attacked, forcing the Defiant to hide in the atmosphere of a gas giant. Hanok was stranded alone with Quark during the battle, and he came to appreciate the Ferengi viewpoint somewhat. [1]
