F8 was one of many androids working at the Utopia Planetia shipyards at the time of its destruction. He was the one who turned off the defence grid allowing the ships to attack. He also killed several humans in the facility who attempted to stop him, before killing himself. Before his attack he appeared to receive instructions remotely, which triggered his actions. [1]
