A fictional recreation of the a native of earth's old West, Earp was part of an elaborate telepathic projection which the Melkotians used against Captain Kirk's officers in 2268. Virgil was the older brother of Wyatt and Morgan Earp. He fought in the legendary gunfight at the O.K. Corral against the Clanton-McLaury gang. The Enterprise crew were able to overcome their intended role as the victims of the gunfight thanks to a Vulcan mind meld. [1]
