Dexter Remmick was an investigator who interviewed the Enterprise-D senior officers in 2364 in an attempt to determine if the ship had been subverted by the mysterious conspiracy affecting Starfleet. Although he was an abrasive character, he was so impressed with the crew that he wanted to serve on the ship. [1]Remmick was himself subverted by the conspiracy when he was infected by an alien parasite shortly afterwards. He hosted the mother creature, and thus essentially controlled the entire infiltration effort. Remmick was killed by Captain Picard and Commander Riker. [2]
