Review : I found this game on the old Acorn series (look it up young people) and LOVED it. The graphics were simple (naturally) but well drawn, the navigation system taught basic spatial awareness and coordinate based plotting. You could buy a nav computer to do the maths for you, but that just took the fun out of it. Combat was turn-based and damage would affect seperate systems as well as your overall health, making strategic use of available starbases very important. The version i played had an in-game time limit that reduced during repairs and travel between sectors, giving a slightly urgent edge to the game. It's a lovely piece of nostalgia and if you wish to try it out, look for a game called Stellar Trek on the android store that is an updated version. Well worth a look. I loved this game and wish my old Acorn(research) hadn't given up the magic blue smoke.
