Notes

Pup was an unofficial name given to an alien probe which arrived at Deep Space Nine in 2369. The probe transmitted a sentient-level computer program to the station which O'Brien was unable to remove; he ultimately allowed it to remain, reasoning that as long as it was not doing any harm there was no real reason to destroy it. [3]
