B4

TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : B4 [1]
Species : Artificial lifeform

An early prototype of the Data/Lore model android, B4 was discovered by Shinzon and programmed to act as a covert agent aboard the Enterprise-E. B4 had a relatively simple neural network and was apparently not capable of a high degree of reasoning. Data downloaded a copy of his neural net into B4 before his death on board the Scimitar, leading Captain Picard to hope that some remnant of Data's personality had survived within his predecessor. [1]

By 2385, B4's body was being stored at the Daystrom Institute under the care of Bruce Maddox and Agnes Jurati. [2] Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, Bruce Maddox had transferred a copy of Data's memories and he and Altan Ingatio Soong used them to produce a massively complex quantum simulation which was able to house a fully operational copy of Data's consciousness. [3]
