A member of the Shedai leadership, called the Serrataal, the Avenger was one of the younger of the ruling elite. The Avenger spent the long sleep of the Shedai in the core of a planet. She erupted out of the planet in physical form when awoken by the Wanderer, devastating the world and killing huge numbers of people living on it. Back on the Shedai First World, the Avenger was assigned the task of hunting down the USS Sagittarius when it crash landed on the planet whilst investigating it. [1]

Her prey proved elusive, and the Avenger had difficulty tracking them down thanks to masking devices constructed by Starfleet. Nevertheless she was able to kill Lieutenant Niwara and injure other members of the crew. She finally located the Sagittarius as it took off, and would have destroyed the ship if it had not been protected by the Apostate. [1]
