Duras

Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Duras [1]
Species : Klingons

A Klingon officer in the 2150s, Duras was the son of Toral and a member of the warrior caste of Klingon society. He commanded the D-5 cruiser IKS Vor'Tas in 2152. On one mission he attempted to prevent the NX-01 from lending aide to a group of Klingon subjects who were attempting to find food. Archer managed to disable the Vor'Tas; humiliated by this failure, Duras was demoted to second weapons officer at Tae'khogo defence perimeter. [2] In 2153 Duras regained a command, this time of a Bird of Prey. He followed Archer to Earth after the Xindi attack and attempted to engage him, but was driven off by the intervention of two Starfleet ships. He waited for the NX-01 to leave the system and attacked again, but the ship's upgraded weapons and armour was sufficient to drive him off again. Duras sought reinforcements from the Empire and returned to engage the Enterprise once more as it reached the thermobaric clouds surrounding the Delphic Expanse. Unwilling to enter the Expanse, both the accompanying ships withdrew to leave Duras fighting alone. Enterprise executed an L-4 loop, bringing the ship behind Duras's ship and allowing weapons to be brought to bear on an unshielded section. The ship was destroyed, killing Duras and the entire crew. [3]
