A close friend of Captain Picard, Admiral Quinn visited the ship in 2364 whilst it was at Relva VII. He subjected the command staff to a rigorous investigation because he suspected that the ship had become part of a mysterious conspiracy which was affecting Starfleet. Quinn offered Picard the chance to become commandant of Starfleet academy, but Picard declined. [2] Quinn later became part of the conspiracy when he was infected by an alien Parasite. He attempted to infect Commander Riker, but was subdued by Dr. Crusher. The parasite within him died when Captain Picard and Commander Riker killed the creature's leader. [1]
