A member of the medical team aboard the Enterprise-D, Alyssa was an Ensign until 2370, when she was promoted to Lieutenant. [2] She was romantically attached to several men during her time aboard the ship, including Ensign Markson [3] and Lieutenant Powell. Powell proposed to Ogawa [2], and she became pregnant with his child. In 2370 she became a victim of Barclay's Protomorphosis Syndrome, but her foetus was protected by the amniotic fluid within her womb. Data was able to use this fact to create a cure for the condition. [4] Ogawa was still serving aboard the Enterprise-D when it was lost. [5] She survived the ordeal and like many crewmembers went on to serve aboard the Enterprise-E. [6]
