Father of B'Elanna Torres and husband of Miral, John often found it difficult to live with two Klingons and eventually the marriage dissolved and John left when B'Elanna was five years old. As of 2371 B'Elanna had not seen her father since she the separation. [2] B'Elanna blamed herself for the breakup of her parents, in part because of an incident on a camping trip when she overheard her father complain about the difficulties of living with her and her mother. [3] After Voyager regained contact with the Alpha Quadrant B'Elanna once again talked to her father via a subspace message and they began the first steps towards re-establishing their relationship.
