Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Doctor Arik Soong [1]
Species : Humans

A brilliant scientist, Arik Soong was one of the men who developed the genetically engineered variants of Humanity who attempted to take over Earth in the late 20th century. In the 22nd century he stole a large number of stored foetuses from Cold Station 12 and vanished. Captured years later, Soong refused to reveal what he had done with the foetuses. He remained in captivity for ten years until a group of Augmented Humans stole a Klingon vessel in 2154; it became apparent that Soong had gorwn at least some of the foetuses after stealing him, and Captain Archer enlisted his aid in tracking down the Augments. Unfortunately, Soong was rescued from the NX-01 by the Augments and escaped. [1] He led the Augments in a raid on Cold Station 12 to recover the remaining embryos. [2] When he refused to use the bio weapons kept at the station to ignite a war between Earth and the Klingon Empire, Malik replaced him as leader of the Augments. Soong escaped with the help of Persis and helped Archer to track down the Augments. On his return to Earth he decided to stop further work on genetics and instead expressed an interest in developing articifical life forms, work he expected would take at least another couple of generations to finish. [3]
