Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Ambassador Kamarag [1]
Species : Klingons

The Federation Ambassador to the Federation in the mid 2280 and early 2290s, Kamarag was present during the Federation council hearing into the actions of Admiral Kirk during the Genesis controversy. He claimed that Genesis was a weapon of mass destruction, and the Genesis planet a secret Federation base intended to be the launching point for a campaign of genocide against the Klingon people, with Kirk as the architect of this plan. The actions of Kruge in destroying the USS Grissom and were dismissed by Kamarag as self defence by the Klingon people. He demanded the extradition of Admiral Kirk on charges of terrorism, and was disgusted when the Federation President revealed that Kirk was merely facing charges of violating Starfleet regulations. Kamarag warned that there could be no peace between the Federation and the Klingons whilst Kirk lived. [2]

In 2293, Kamarag defended General Chang's arrest of Kirk and McCoy aboard Kronos One after the assassination of Chancellor Gorkon. He noted that Kirk and McCoy had boarded the ship of their own free will and been legally arrested for the crime, and that any rescue mission would violate interstellar law. The Federation President was reluctantly forced to agree, and declined to mount any rescue mission. [3]

Kamarag attended the Khittomer Conference, and along with the rest of the delegates applauded Kirk's efforts in avoiding the assassination of the Federation President and subsequent speech to the delegates urging peace. [3]
