Q2

TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Q2 [1]
Species : Q

The offspring of Q and a female Q, Q2 was created in an attempt to revitalise the continuum after the Q civil war. [2] Q2 felt rather overwhelmed at being expected to become the saviour of what is possibly the most powerful species in this or any other existence; as a result he became obnoxious and rebellious, rejecting his father's authority. Q placed the boy with Captain Janeway, hoping that being exposed to Human cultural norms would be a positive influence on his son. Although Janeway's initial efforts proved fruitless, Q2 did eventually begin to become more responsible and even struck up a friendship with Icheb. Nevertheless, he decided to steal the Delta Flyer and take it and Icheb to a distant part of space. There he encountered an alien species who attacked the ship, injuring Icheb badly. Voyager's EMH was unable to treat the injury as he lacked information about the weapon used; Q2 offered to turn himself in to the aliens in return for the information, even though he did not know what punishment he would be given by them. With this offer the alien captain revealed himself as none other than Q, who had arranged the whole scene to test his son. [3]

Q2's newfound respect for others failed to impress his fellow Q, and they sentenced him to exile from the continuum. The decision was reversed when his father threatened to leave with him. [3]
