Plotline

Emperor Georgiou summons Burnham and Lorca to the imperial flagship, the ISS Charon. When they arrive Lorca is sent to an agony booth. Burnham is asked to choose a Kelpian, which she eventually does. Georgiou has dinner with Burnham, who is horrified to learn that the main course is the Kelpian she chose earlier.

Still delirious in sickbay, Stamets' consciousness finds itself in the mycelial network. Here he discovers the consciousness of his Mirror counterpart. He learns that the network has been corrupted by the Mirror Stamets' experiments. Stamets encounters a representation of Culber and accepts his loss. After waking up from his trance he discovers that his spore collection has been infected by the corruption.

On the Charon, Georgiou laments allowing Lorca to become a father figure to her version of Burnham, especially as the pair fell in love and plotted to overthrow her. Georgiou tells of her plan to execute Burnham, who then reveals the truth about being from another universe. Explaining how they had crossed over, Georgiou trades information on alternative ways to cross between universes for the schematics of Discovery's spore drive. This leads Burnham to realize that the Lorca she knows is actually originally from the Mirror Universe and has been manipulating events to get back to there all along.

Down in the brig, Lorca escapes from the agony booth.
