Plotline

The Borg Queen, Adam and the drones beam to La Sirena and Picard and the team are in the chateau. The Queen attempts to take control of the ship but is blocked by Agnes, who has encrypted the systems and locked the access key up in an emergency holographic combat version of Elnor. Holo Elnor proceeds to wipe out several of the drones and evades capture. Rios is injured and he, Teresa and Ricardo beam away to Tallinn's apartment. Rios attempts to beam back but Picard and Tallinn have disabled the system.

Adam Soong attempts to talk Picard in giving up and leaving. Obviously he refuses and the drones restart their attack. Picard leads them down into the basement. Whilst there, Picard has flashbacks to his childhood, remembering things he had forgotten.

Seven and Raffi work their way to the ship and meet Holo Elnor. He grants them access to the systems and they use the transporter to beam the remaining drones from the ship into the walls of the chateau.

Discovered by the Queen, Elnor, Seven and Raffi attempt to beam her away too, but fail. The Queen attacks and Seven is mortally wounded.

Adam finally catches up with Picard and Tallinn and is about to kill them when Rios beams back and shoots the drones. Adam gets the gun from him and attempts to use it, but his DNA isn't recognised and it overloads. He throws it and escapes just in time.

Back on the ship the Queen attempts to finish off Seven, but can't seem to attack her. Agnes appears and talks to her. She has used sadness to generate hormones that allow her more control over their shared body. She discusses with the Queen suggesting a new way for the collective to work, one of cooperation rather than assimilation. The queen is doubtful but eventually agrees. She turns Seven into a Borg again, but leaves her free, so she can be healed.

With the threats gone Picard remembers the final thing that happened at the chateau. He let his mother out of the room, his father had locked her in, and she had then hung herself.

The Queen departs in the ship, leaving a message with Seven, "In order to succeed, there must be two Renées, the one who lives and another who dies.".
