Title : A Rock and a Hard Place Rating : 3
Writers : Peter David Year : 1990
Review : A tad predictable in places, the humour is a bit childish, and the new character of Quentin Stone is rather unbeleivable, but it displays Peter David's skill. he knows how to get humour out of a scene (although sometimes he milks it a bit too much) and he's created a very good loose cannon in the character of Stone, although it's hard to believe that someone like that hasn't been kicked out of the fleet. there's a bit of character, mainly centered around Riker, but there's a bit with Deanna as well, but the whole book plays as an action/adventure story rather than a character piece. A few good cliffhangers as well. Worth a read, perfect for train trips to work, where you can't read the whole thing in one go.
Title : The Kobayashi Maru Rating : 4
Writers : Julia Ecklar Year : 1989
Review : I agree, it's a fantastic book which really delves deep into the character's lives. And it also shows how Kirk beat the Kobayashi maru. The Starfleet Academy game uses this story as well. If you see it, buy it. Absolutely fantastic!
Title : Star Trek: The Prisoner of Vega Rating : 2
Writers : Christopher Cerf, Robert Swanson (Illustrator), Sharon Lerner Year : 1977
Review : A good Star Trek book for children, but for older readers, it won't be very exciting.
Title : Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion Rating : 5
Writers : Paula M. Block, Terry J. Erdmann Year : 2000
Review : Incredible book! Buy it if you see it, it's filled with tons of fascinating information from behind the scenes, as well as a map of Bajor!
