Minister for security on Malcor III, Krola was a conservative who resisted Durken's progressive reforms. When the Federation contacted the planet Krola assumed hostile intent on their part, especially when he found that Federation personnel had been on the planet for some time already conducting covert research. Krola attempted to frame the injured Commander Riker for his death so he could become a martyr and thus prevent further contact. [1]
