Captain Crandall lived on the planet Nepenthe near Infinity Lake in 2399. He was friends with Kestra and once gave her a compass so she could find north, the compass was however, broken. Captain Crandall was older than Jean-Luc Picard. He owned a space ship, which Will Riker suspected was also broken. [1]
