Mother to Icheb, Yifay was a Brunali, a species which had been decimated by Borg attacks. She deliberately allowed her son to be infected with a pathogen which could destroy Borg vessels so that he would damage the collective once assimilated. When Voyager returned Icheb to his parents in 2376, Yifay attempted to have him assimilated again. Captain Janeway was able to thwart this attempt. [1]
