Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Cervantes Quinn [1]
Species : Humans

A Human merchant and trader, Cervantes Quinn was the owner and pilot of the Rocinante, a small cargo vessel which was based on Starbase 47 (Vanguard) in the 2260s. He often conducted less than legitimate missions for the Orion gangster, Ganz. In addition, he worked for Starfleet intelligence officer T'Prynn. [1]

Quinn was an alcoholic, and frequently engaged in heavy drinking sessions whilst on Vanguard. These included planting the falsified evidence regarding the loss of the USS Bombay, which was the basis for the news story written by Tim Pennington. As a result, Pennington's career was destroyed. Feeling guilty over this, Quinn asked Pennington to work with him. Pennington took the opportunity to research stories about the Taurus reach, hoping to regenerate his career. [1]

Quinn had been through four divorces as of 2265. [1] He commented that when his first wife talked for two minutes, he would often wish he could launch her out a photon torpedo tube. [2]

In 2266 Quinn was ordered by T'Prynne to take his ship to the Jintoeur system in order to assist the USS Sagittarius, which had been forced down on a Shedai planet there. He was able to rescue the ship and escape the system successfully. [3] In the aftermath of the mission Quinn began to regain his self-respect, and set out to rebuild his life. [4]
