A member of the uSS Enterprise crew, O'Neil was part of the landing party which beamed down to the planet Beta III in 2267. He was absorbed by Landru's Lawgivers. When Landru was destroyed O'Neil returned to normal. [2] O'Neil was still serving aboard the ship a year later when it encountered the USS Defiant in interphase space; he was acting as a transporter chief at this time. [3]
