"Buckley" was named by his young human companion Oriana, however neither of them could understand the other's language. Buckley was protective of the Oriana and attempted to hold off a group of Federation crew with a staff like weapon. When the Federation showed that they meant no harm Buckley laid down the weapon and allowed the Doctor to examine them. Despite initially showing no signs of infection Buckley's condition rapidly worsened until Gorn bust from his body killing him in the process. [1]
