Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Emory Erickson [1]
Species : Humans

Inventor of the transporter and the first Human being ever to be transported, Emory was distraught when his son was apparently killed in 2139 by an accident whilst testing the new sub-quantum transporter system. Emory realised that his son was in fact not dead; rather his transporter pattern had been lost in a region of space known as the Barrens. He tried for fifteen years to come up with a way to retrieve the pattern, finally making the attempt in 2154. Unfortunately the pattern was badly degraded; unwilling to leave his son in limbo any longer Emory retrieved the pattern anyway, allowing his son to finally die. [1]
