[1] The surviving remnant of the Caeliar city Mantilis arrives in the Delta Quadrant, landing on an inhospitable region of an inhabited planet. The handful of Caeliar and MACO begin a grueling fight for survival. [1]
[1] With starvation and predators gradually claiming the survivors of Mantillis, the last remaining Caeliar creates a nanotechnology system to allow it to survive, assimilating a MACO and using the other humans as a food source. The resulting cybernetic creatures are able to hibernate until discovered by the natives of the planet, whom they assimilate to form a collective intelligence. The result is the creation of the Borg species. [1]

[2] Several of the Columbia MACOS rebel against Captain Hernandez, determined to escape from the Caeliar. They use Caeliar subspace tunnel technology in an attempt to escape and go back in time to 2156. During the attempt a powerful feedback signal from another galaxy causes a disaster, destroying Erigol and most of the Caeliar population. The Columbia is thrown through space to the Delta Quadrant; Axion, a surviving Caeliar city where Inyx and Captain Hernandez are located, is thrown 650 years, 7 months, 8 days, 11 hours and 43 minutes into the past. [2] A remnant of another city, Mantilis, with a small group of surviving Caeliar and MACOs, is thrown into the Delta Quadrant almost 6,700 years into the past. [1]

[1] The Caeliar decide to intervene in the Borg conflict when it is discovered that the Borg were originally created by a dying Caeliar millennia earlier. The Caeliar remove the nanoprobes from all Borg, freeing every member of the collective and effectively rendering the Borg species extinct. [1]
