Regulations List

The following are the various Federation laws, regulations, rules and directives we have heard over the series. As usual the primary source was the Encyclopedia, and as usual any updates or corrections should indicate the episode the change required, which episode it came from, and if possible a rough idea of where in the episode it is mentioned.

Interspecies Protocol Includes a handbook on Personal Relationships three centimetres thick, including the rule "All Starfleet personnel must obtain authorization from their C.O. as well as clearance from their medical officer before initiating an intimate relationship with an alien species." Order 104 Section C Earth Starfleet order under which the medical officer can relieve the Captain of command. Hatchery

Regulation 17.43 Relates to the ethical code of conduct of Starfleet cadets. In the Nero timeline, Cadet James T. Kirk was accused of violation of Regulation 17.43 when he reprogrammed the Kobayashi Maru simulation to allow him to defeat the no win scenario. Star Trek XI

Security Protocol 49.09 Covers the ethical treatment of prisoners aboard a starship. In the Nero timeline, Cadet Kirk regarded Spock's marooning of him on Delta Vega as a violation of Security Protocol 49.09. Star Trek XI

Starfleet Engineering Code Requires a second backup for mission critical components in case the primary backup fails Destiny
Starfleet Regulation 619 Any command officer who is emotionally compromised by the mission at hand must resign said command. In the Nero timeline, Kirk pushed Spock into a fit of rage to demonstrate that he had to resign his command of the Enterprise under Regulation 619. Star Trek XI
Starfleet security protocol 28, subsection D "In the event of hostile alien takeover the EMH is to deactivate and wait for rescue." The Swarm
Starfleets Temporal Displacement Policy Part of the temporal prime directive. Prohibits time travelling personnel from interfering in past timelines. Past Tense, Part 1
Starflet Order 2-0-0-5 An order issued to the chief engineer of a Starship, instructing him or her to destroy the ship by detomating the matter/antimatter fuel. Star Trek : The Motion Picture
The Omega Directive Requires the captain of a starship to notify Starfleet command immediately on detection of an omega molecule, and authorizesthe use of any means necessary to destroy it. This directive is unknown to virtually all Starfleet personnel, and over rides the Prime Directive. The Omega Directive
