Chakotay takes a shuttle to perform the pakra, a ritual commemorating the anniversary of my father's death. He becomes involved in the initiation of a young Kazon male, who is sent to capture his shuttle in order to earn his name. Chakotay and the Kazon become friends, and the boy helps Chakotay escape whilst Chakotay helps him earn his name : Kar. [1]
