A scientist from Tanuga IV, Apgar was concerned that his work was not going to be continued by Starfleet. He was deeply resentful of Commander Riker, who visited his space station to asses the work, and attempted to kill Riker as he beamed out of the station. The attempt backfired and Dr. Apgar was killed when the station exploded. [1]
