A Bajoran Vedek, Yassim was utterly opposed to the Dominion occupation of Deep Space Nine in 2374. She opposed any form of compromise on the issue, and even committed suicide to call attention to the situation. Her last words were "evil must be opposed". Yassim's death shocked Major Kira into forming a resistance movement against the occupation. [1]
