A member of the Cardassian military, Dal was working as an undercover operative for the Federation because he felt that the frequent wars his government engaged in were not of benefit to his people. In 2370 he crossed into Federation space for a meeting; to get back across the border he took a Federation shuttle and posed as a bounty hunter, with Ensign Sito as his prisoner. Unfortunately Sito was killed on the mission. [1]
