An engineer aboard the Enterprise-D, Lefler was present in 2368 when Captain Picard was abducted by the Tamarians. [2] She became a mission specialist later in the year and helped to increase the capabilities of the ship's sensor systems. Lefler was romantically interested in Wesley Crusher during his brief visit to the ship at this time, but the two had little chance to develop a relationship as they were occupied with defeating a Ktarian attempt to subvert the crew.
