Bok was the captain of a Ferengi vessel. He had a great hatred of Captain Picard, who had destroyed a Ferengi vessel at the battle of Maxia whilst aboard the Stargazer. Bok used a mind control machine to try and force Picard to re-live the battle and destroy the Enterprise-D, but the attempt failed. [1]
