A news reporter on Earth during the mid 2150s, Gannet had a romantic involvement with Ensign Mayweather before he left on the NX-01. She disliked space travel, regarding it as the last bastion of Human imperialism - though she later claimed to have expressed that view only to try and convince Mayweather to leave Enterprise. Brooks attended the inter-species conference on Earth in 2155, where she tried to subvert the universal translators to spy on the delegates. She was discovered and arrested. [1] Although suspected to be a supporter of Terra Prime, Brooks was in fact an operative of Starfleet Intelligence who was working to uncover the real terra Prime agent on Enterprise. [2]
