A Borg drone known as "Five of Twelve, Secondary adjunct of Trimatrix Nine Four Two", Axum had the one in a million recessive mutation which allowed his mind to exist within the virtual environment of Unimatriz Zero whilst he was regenerating. Whilst there he was romantically involved with Seven of Nine, though she lost all memory of the relationship when she was released from the collective by Voyager. Axum was reunited with Seven in 2376 when he asked for Voyager's help in resisting the efforts of the Borg Queen to destroy Unimatrix Zero. [2] Captain Janeway was able to free Axum and many other drones from the collective; unfortunately his ship was in a remote part of the Beta Quadrant and so he was unable to travel to Voyager. [3]
