A Monean official, Burkus was one of those who liased with Voyager during the ship's visit to the space ocean where he lived. Although initially wary of the aliens, Burkus became more accepting when Janeway showed her benign intent. He did however refuse to believe Voyager's projections regarding the bleak future of the ocean, which was being damaged by his people's industrial activities. [1]
