Janice Lester was a former romantic partner of Captain Kirk. The relationship did not last, but Lester felt extremely jealous of Kirk and of Starfleet, which she saw as having come between them. She became part of an archeological team on Camus II; in 2269 she used an alien artifact she had discovered there to switch bodies with Kirk. The deception was soon uncovered and reversed. [1]
