A Federation scientist, Jo'Bril visited the Enterprise-D in 2369 to asses Dr. Reyga's work on metaphasic shielding. He piloted a shuttle equipped with the shields into a star, but was apparently killed in the process. In fact Jo'Bril had faked his death in order to discredit Reyga so that he could steal his work. Jo'Bril was killed by Dr. Crusher. [1]
