A former Maquis, Suder became a member of Voyager's crew when Chakotay's ship was destroyed after being dragged to the Delta Quadrant. Suder had always loved violence, and during his time on Voyager he murdered engineer Frank Darwin. Tuvok captured Suder and engaged in a mind meld with him in an attempt to help him control his violent impulses. Instead Tuvok acquired some of Suder's personality. [2] Suder became largely rehabilitated after his arrest, and was instrumental in assisting in the recapture of the ship from the Kazon. It was a measure of how far he had come that Suder found it extremely difficult to kill some of the Kazon invaders. [3]
