A member of a species encountered by Voyager in 2377, Verin's people had been decimated centuries before when they used information from an Earth probe to build antimatter technology which polluted their planet. Like the rest of his people, Verin was badly scarred by radiation. He had a fanatical hatred for Earth people, believing that they had sent the probe deliberately as an attack against his world. [1]
