A Human, Dr. Ozaba was a member of the Federation research team on Minara II in 2268. He was there to study the approaching stellar nova along with his associate Dr. Linke; unfortunately the pair were abducted and tortured to death by the Vians, as part of their efforts to study the Empath known as Gem. [1]
