Title : Star Trek: Birth of the Federation Rating : 5
Platforms : Windows Year : 1999
Review : This is one of if not the best Star Trek games made. The original game had its issues with the AI enemies not building large fleets or stations. The game gives you the ability to take any of the big 5 big races from your home system to controlling the entire quadrant. The turned based battles can be very exciting if you can get 50 or more ships in one fight. What really makes Birth of the Federation one of the best games is the mods. There are any number of mods that can increase the enemy AI and building habits. To adding more ships and weapons to the game. With the added mods this game jumps straight to the top of the Star Trek gaming list. Now if they would only make Birth of the Federation 2! Wait the game was so popular that a group of fans are already doing that themselves!
Title : Star Trek Hidden Evil Rating : 2
Platforms : Windows Year : 2002
Review : Hidden evil was a short game that had high points. The original story line based on the Ba'ku is interesting enough to play the game for. The graphics are what you would expect from a 10 year old game they get the job done. The gameplay is a little basic and not as excited as you would want. If you are looking for a budget Star Trek game you might consider Hidden Evil. Don't expect a great game but it will help satisfy your ST gaming thurst.
Title : Star Trek: Borg Rating : 3
Platforms : Macintosh, Windows Year : 1996
Review : ST Borg is an interesting way to bring Star Trek to gaming. This isn't a game so much as just an interactive movie. Don't let that fool you as the story behind everything is interesting enough to keep you playing through. The issue with the game is that it is very short. Due to the fact this was created back in the CD-ROM only days. With several disks you will only get an hour or so of game play depending on how quick you make choices. The video quality is pretty low simply because of the time the game was made. If you enjoyed the Interactive movie portions of Starfleet Academy it will be a great choice for you!
