That is perhaps the most practically useless machine I have ever seen. Is rapid, airborne potato delivery an issue where you live?

Me and a few friends built one a few years ago. We were told to stop since it was making a mess and possibly dangerous. That's what you get with bored military.

My buddies and I built a few potato guns back in the day. I think the best we made could fire about 100 yards max.

Just build it with strong enough material and it will be fine. I saw a design for one made out of inch thick titanium!

Ours were normally made from thick PVC piping, with extra-thick PVC or metal for the ignition chamber.

Good times.
