''theirs'' vs ''ours'': shattered mirror klingon-cardassians
Say around the first few seasons of DS9, If a rift or some such anomaly were to appear in bajoran space and formed a route to the 'shattered mirror' klingon-cardassian alliance universe, how do we think that ''our'' klingons and cardassians would react to the klingon-cardassian alliance?

I think they'd be pissed that the Klingons were leaning on someone else for support.

I would say unhappily, with both sides claiming it would be impossible, based on the Betraka Nebula "Incident" that dominated their politics for 18 years (Lost Era Novel: Art of the Impossible), which had been brought up a couple times in Season 4 of DS9.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

Agreed. In all likelihood, "our" Klingons and Cardassians would probably regard the mirror versions as racial traitors.

And seek to exterminate them completely

that could actually make a good few eps at leasts...a war between our univese and the mirrior universe from the perspective of the Klingons....
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Starfleet, as usual, would have ran to the rescue.

do you think so...even post DW....I could see SF standing back and letting the war go, as long as they didn't have attacks going on in their space.

Starfleet would NOT let an entire race get wiped out like that.........they'd try to mediate and get dragged in as well.

I think the UFP would be fine with letting a war between Mirror Klingons and Real Klingons happen. It all works to their favour.

just no general order 24 me hopes (''a taste of armageddon'')
i think that the federation would seek to contain and mediate the war before other parties got involved, so after the initial protestations and condemnations, other action might be taken, for example supply convoys bearing humanitarian aid, removing diplomatic recognition, and eventually possibly a peacekeeper force.

I think typical UFP do-gooder syndrome would set in, and cause Starfleet to come in on the side of the "real" Klingons.

Yeah, you're probably right. The UFP seems to place ideals of practicality.

So you think Starfleet would join a war of extinction?
