First try with Pastels
So I decided to mess around with pastels tonight for about 15 minutes. Its nothing sci-fi related, but instead Joshua Chamberlain, my historical hero.

That's amazing! Well done you!

I think this is the first example of "art" rather than "design" we've seen. Great work Bryan.

Very nicely done, expecially for your first essay in the medium.

Very nice. I'm kind of ashamed but I don't know who this Joshua Chamberlain is.

I'll have to read up on it.

A couple more... my rabbit, beer, and my best friend and I as Lego men, respectively.

Re: First try with Pastels
Once again, well done. Though you should practice a bit more with foreshortening ad turning objects, as the lego men aren't quite fitting yet.
for colour graduations, you could try sopmething in only one colour, it may hone your skills in adding various tones to the pictures.
