Well to be fair the Vong' strategy wasn't that bad... for a Vong. And one race conqueroring a Galaxy is bound to run out of warriors :P

Dude-they shouldn't even be able to have hit NR and IR ships-their lava guns didn't have the same range as turbolasers and lasers. Not only that...lava should not have even damaged a ship!

It wasn't lava. It was a plasma shot. They called it volcano guns because of the way they looked. It shot super heated plasma. That's how I understood it.

Wookiepedia calls them explicitly *lava cannons*. They are identified as lava cannons in the C-Canon books. Vong ships fire lava and *bugs*, and are flying *rocks*. They shouldn't have even gotten past the outer rim.

They're also described as shooting hot magma and hot rocks in the Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology.
