Given that they had to actualy shoot the torp to blow it up, I'm betting there's no remote detonation system.

But there is a proximity detonation option.

But no remote detonation? That's silly and unsafe. Even our modern day weapons have remote detonators for our torps and missles.

They do have remote quantum switches on their torpedoes though.
